Paintings We buy all types of paintings, oil, watercolors, and acrylic. Signed paintings are best but we’re happy to look at unsigned paintings too. Unreadable signatures are not a problem. Any subject from traditional landscapes, still life, portraits, animals, and children are ok. We’re always happy to take a look. We also buy modern and contemporary paintings.

Oil Paintings: 19th or early 20th-century oil paintings, particularly those by recognized or listed artists.

Watercolors: Antique or vintage watercolor paintings, especially landscapes, seascapes, or portraits.

Miniature Paintings: Hand-painted miniatures from the 18th or 19th century, often found in old frames or lockets.

Impressionist Works: Pieces that reflect the Impressionist style or movement, with identifiable provenance.

Still Life Paintings: Antique still life paintings featuring flowers, fruits, or everyday objects.

Portraits: 19th-century or earlier portrait paintings, especially those with historical or cultural significance.

Pastel Works: Pastel drawings or paintings from the 18th or 19th century, particularly those with a clear signature.

Photograpy and Photo Albums

Daguerreotypes and Tintypes: Early photographic prints such as daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, or tintypes, especially those with original cases or frames.

Vintage Prints: Black and white or sepia-toned photographs from the 19th or early 20th century, particularly by well-known photographers or studios.

Stereoscopic Images: 19th-century stereoscopic cards or viewers.

Albumen Prints: 19th-century albumen prints, especially those depicting historical events, famous people, or unique landscapes.

Photographic Albums: Antique photo albums containing original, period photographs, especially those with handwritten notes or personal inscriptions.

Sculptures

We buy sculptures, bronze, iron, wood. We consider any type of sculpture. Signed sculptures are preferred but anonymous sculptures are fine.

Bronze Sculptures: 19th-century or early 20th-century bronze sculptures, particularly those by renowned artists or studios.

Marble Busts: Classical or neoclassical marble busts or statues from the 18th or 19th century.

Terracotta Sculptures: Antique terracotta figures or busts, especially those with intricate details or historical themes.

Wooden Carvings: Carved wooden figures, masks, or statues, particularly those from recognized regions or cultural groups.

Art Deco or Art Nouveau Sculptures: Small to medium-sized sculptures in bronze, ceramic, or alabaster from the Art Deco or Art Nouveau periods.

Garden Statues: Antique or vintage garden statues, especially those made of stone, cast iron, or terracotta.

Limited Edition Prints

We buy limited edition prints from any era. A limited edition is the same as signed and numbered. Sometimes instead of a number “Artist Proof” or “Proof” is where the number should be. That is OK.

Carvings

Ivory (antique only) or Bone Carvings: Antique ivory or bone carvings, such as netsuke, scrimshaw, or figurines, with cultural or historical significance (while adhering to legal regulations).

Asian Carvings: Chinese or Japanese wood or jade carvings, particularly those depicting deities, animals, or historical scenes.

African Carvings: Traditional African wood carvings, masks, or figures, especially those with provenance or historical context.

Scrimshaw: Carved or etched whale bone or teeth, particularly pieces with nautical themes or ship imagery.

Cameos: Antique carved shell or stone cameos, often set in jewelry or small decorative items.

Medieval or Renaissance Woodcarvings: Intricately carved wooden panels, figures, or decorative elements from the Medieval or Renaissance periods.

Frames

We are buyers of old and antique frames. Finely crafted and handmade wood frames are what we primarily buy. Ornate or gilded frames from the 18th or 19th centuries, especially those with intricate carvings or original finishes.

Miscelaneous

Decorative Screens: Antique painted or carved folding screens, particularly those from Asia or the 19th-century European market.

Ceramic and Porcelain Plaques: Hand-painted ceramic or porcelain plaques, especially those by well-known makers like Limoges or Royal Worcester.
