We Traveled for: Vintage Civil Rights Memorabilia, African-American Military Photos, and Missionaries’ Artifacts
We recently traveled to buy a civil rights collection in a large mid-western city. It was a collection of civil rights items from a civil rights activist, business leader and he was very involved in the African-Methodist-Episcopal church. While we were prepared to buy more we did find a few things that align very well with what we are currently buying.
Civil Rights Memorabilia
This poster of Huey Newton sitting in front of the iconic poster of him sitting in a cobra chair with a rifle in one hand and an African spear in the other. We are alway looking for vintage civil rights items. Posters, pamphlets, flyers, broadsides, photos, photo albums, and letters are all civil rights items we are avidly buying.
Military Photos
Studio photo of a group of Buffalo Soldier officers is an example of a specific type of photos we buy. We avidly buy historical military photos, especially ones related to African-Americans serving in the military. We are also looking for photo albums, letters, and anything that describes or illustrates military life.
AME Missionary Collected African Artifacts
Often missionaries collected utilitarian African tools, musical instruments, carvings, canes, and various handmade objects from the communities they ministered. We buy these types of items.
